The ^2 is correct, as is the m*v.
The F is not.
The correct formula is Ke=mv^2, or Kinetic Energy is equivalent to the mass of an object multiplied by the square of that objects velocity.
Couple other points:
1. I don't really agree with the limped foot sentiment. It can occasionally help, but it really varies by scenario. I generally find contracting the ankle to allow better penetration, but it depends on the obliqueness of the impact.
2. If you are grabbing a foe, with or without grab hands, I find it is actually often effective to release before impact. By removing your connection, you decrease your moment of inertia -> lower rotational momentum -> faster rotational velocity -> greater kinetic energy -> higher impulse -> better force.
