The standard "plain text editor" on a Mac is called TextEdit.

It's a real pain to try to read or browse. You know, the lack of any formatting or structuring, sections, etc. Not to mention that about every other sentence for some reason has it's own paragraph, which (among other things) makes the whole thing seem more like a sketch of a commentary than a tutorial.
