How to Fix the ToriEconomy
Hello my fellow Toribashians. I have an idea to fix the ToriEconomy.

- Enable players to own an item ONCE (rare items will be tradeable such as Smaguris color, Diamond color, Alpha Helmet, and more)
- Forge custom items for TC
- Disable trading items unless its a flame, rare item, or a custom item.

I think the issue is that this game is very daunting for new players, It takes years to learn and potentially years to get enough qi and tc to buy the items they want. If textures were less expensive then it would inspire new players to get more creative with those and get them hooked on that, who wants to play a game like this that limits their ability to customize the look of their character to a few disgusting colour shades? I don't mind having to grind out the qi but for many people especially young people it's enough to turn their attention towards other games. If there was no qi limiting what items they can buy/ colours they can use for their sets then it would be a more beginner friendly experience. There could be a seasonal event where the tori shop removes the qi limit or you could allow all items to be traded amongst players regardless of qi, so that beginners can just purchase the items from players with high qi. To clarify: I don't think textures should be less expensive but I think there should be MORE tc in the system so that beginner players can actually afford those prices. Toribash can be distilled into a few aspects: physics based fighting, competition, community, gambling, marketing and character customization and graphic design. I think we have gotten lazy with the character customisation and graphic design aspects, most of us love 3d items, but do they really benefit new players that much? They are expensive and they don't offer a whole lot in terms of creating unique and creative sets. We need to think of something new, character customization and graphic design is the entire point of tc and the tori market, if its not exciting then the tori economy will never boom.

To fix the tori economy and make the game more money we need more players to stick around and part of that is getting them invested in character customization, to do that we need more tc being created (for new players especially) and more tc being sunk in turn. Purchasing tc from the shop should be bumped up to a 30k per $ rate and then that tc should be sunk asap to make sure that tc sellers don't increase their rates to out compete the shop. "so how do we sink the tc?" we do that by fixing the market, currently market prices for low tier colours especially are super low, like way too low, sometimes 90% or more less than they are in the torishop, this is because there are more of those items than there are people who play tb, thousands of times more items in some cases, we need to sink those items. To do this, I propose that we introduce a new type of item that is made by combining potentially hundreds of already existing colour items to make unique colour items. these unique items could be Chromatic colours, metallic colours, translucent colours, textured colours, shifting, shimmering colours similar to the Diamond Tori items and item effects. For example, combing a certain combination and quantity of green colours could make an emerald colour that literally looks like an emerald, in that its translucent, it could be "faceted" similarly to the diamond tori or "polished" (unfaceted) so its the normal shape, or "frosted" so its less transparent and or has a rougher texture. combining white items with a spectrum of colours could make "Pearl" which would be white with a rainbow chromatic. Or combining black with a spectrum of colours could make "Oil" which would be black with a rainbow chromatic, or just combing a spectrum of colour items could make a rainbow chromatic item effect that can be applied on any colour, etc.

This colour items idea hits multiple birds with one stone, it sinks a bunch of unused items, particularly the low qi/ low tc items, increasing the scarcity of these items, driving the price back up to levels similar to the tori shop prices once again, which would eventually lead to people buying from the tori shop once more and sinking the tc. It directly sinks tc in order to combine the colours, It gets people hyped about low tier colours that nobody cares for, it gets them hyped about cool new items (who doesn't like shiny holographic stuff?, think trading cards and precious stones and metals) and provides more unique character customization ideas. There are plenty of ways we could sink tc, I don't think that is the issue here, the issue is that nobody has any reason to buy from the shop and there are too many items and not enough players. Bet rooms are dying because nobody has any tc to bet with. At this rate all items that are not limited edition are just going to keep going down and down in price and more tc will have to be sunk to keep up with that, decreasing the amount of tc in circulation and leading to imbalances in the market and stale gameplay. we need to encourage people to buy tc from tb and then have exciting ways to sink tc and items while still providing some value to the player for doing so. If the amount of tc in players accounts starts rocketing way out of control then introduce a sink tax on duelling and betting and meantime implement more creative ways to sink the tc like these new items I am proposing.

The tc needs to flow from the hands of beginner players, who then buy items from experienced players and the tori shop(sink) then those experienced players take that tc and collectively sink it in a fun way that provides value to them.

Thank you to whoever read this mess of a suggestion, even if you don't agree with all of it, I hope you at least agreed with some of it or found some inspiration for your own ideas on how to make the tori economy great again. Of course this is all my opinion and I am not an economist so nothing I wrote here should be interpreted as me saying it with the upmost certainty. I also understand that because of budget constraints/ lack of game devs, even if you wanted to implement my idea its likely not possible, even so, I think it's worth a shot to at least put the idea out there.

hmmm
why not have like tradeup contracts like in counterstrike or some distant version of that? like | x amount of chronos grip will give u a chance at either sinking it all or getting 1 higher tier grip, the lower tiers should have a really high chance of sinking and take bulk to start, but once u get up to the really high tiers like idk 8kqi it levels out and is more fair, that way u can get rid alot of the excess cheapo items while keeping gambling involved cuz we all love that, its unfair at lower tiers to clean out the economy while also allowing chances to get better stuff, the tricky part is making it unfair enough so that it cant be abused to create bulk higher tier items

aye something like that could work and would be easier to implement. It wouldn't help with as many issues but it would solve one of the big ones.
Don't really like the third idea I believe instead rare or discontinued items need to be brought back through limited time deals like retro lottery where you get tickets to unlock a discontinued item through a retro catalog with the quests.

The logic to fix ToriEconomy is simple.

Nowdays: easy tc = worthless

The easiest way to fix is control how easy people can get the tcs. Now its basically free tc with daily rewards and free items.

Solution: Make the ways to get tc harder and make it worthy. Events like ETourney make a unique coin that the only way to get is winning this kinda of event and with this coin you can buy unique items, remove shiai token and make a new one. Thats make people get better and more enthusiastic to get a really cool item.

Stop giving cool items for free, free items = worthless
Example: Icon 2 or 3 years ago was 100k and nowdays is like 50k (-50% less) and this apply with most of battle pass items.

Thats my opinion, maybe isnt 100% right but its a good idea

auction off inactive inventories like storage wars

Thats not a fair thing for anyone with an account. Thats definitely a violation of gamer rights.

value tc for what its actually worth and price store items higher. make store toricredit purchases yeild more TC and everyone would be happier to play the game because they are drippy and get it some attention for once in yalls tori history.
-----
just think how much a guy would wanna play if they were decked out. theres plenty of items to buy. or just make more 3d stuff that way no one can easily get everything with new releases
-----
Do more battle passes that reward people I never played when there was one.
-----
If there was no qi limiting what items they can buy/ colours they can use for their sets then it would be a more beginner friendly experience.

QI separates men from the boys. if they dont like it theres a 10k qi purchase in store for 50 bucks

I dissagree, It is not simple and that is not how it works, tc is worth less because no one is playing tb, no one is playing tb because every time they join or come back from a break to play, there is little for them to do. There are barely any duelists still playing, there are barely any bet servers and no bet server is successful, there is very little competition for the players coming back, very few big names for them to get hyped about fighting or get inspired by and unless they see a whole bunch of their old friends still playing then they arent going to stick around. Printing more tc and just handing it out might seem like a bad idea but if that stimulates more bet servers and duels and in turn that stimulates more people coming back, then it could snowball from there, people will come back, see that there is activity and that will incorage them to stick around, increasing the activity, encoraging more to join in... that will eventually lead to tc being valuble again, because people are only going to put money into a game they actually play. The amount of tc in the system does not matter if non of that tc is being exchanged, at the moment its just sitting in peoples accounts doing nothing, It may aswell be sunk, non existant, the majority of it is in itemps account. We should be printing more TC to stimulate the basic aspects of gameplay which is betting and dueling that the OG players used to enjoy, the ones that come back every few years just because nostalgia calls but then they leave again because there is no activity. After the activity snowballs we can just find creative ways to sink the tc if needed, even if there was too much tc being exchanged it would just make item prices go UP, instead of dropping lower and lower like they are, the tc per $ rate could go up or it could even go DOWN because of the increased activity, meaning that tc is more valuble. Even if it halfs in price, becoming 60-80k per $, I'd say thats a good trade for increased activity. Would you rather a dead game where the value of tc is inflated through scarcity? Or would you rather an active game where the value of tc doesnt really matter because more people are putting money into the game? Stop being afraid to print tc, the activity is what makes tc valuble, not it's scarcity. This comment is not just directed at you, its directed at all the people constantly saying that we need to sink more tc to make it valuble. Yes scarcity can make something more valuble but if nobody wants what your selling, then it has no value. I could produce a completley limited edition and unique peice of art, one of a kind, something as scarce as is physically possible, but if nobody is going to buy it, then it's more than worthless. Hype is what makes something valuble, scarcity is just a secondary effect that you apply AFTER hype. PRINT MORE TC, GO WILD, WHAT DO WE HAVE TO LOSE?
