Rankings for each division will be updated bi-weekly.
(Professional Leagues closed until fighter pool size is enlarged)
Boxing
All amateur boxing bouts will be fought under 3 rounds at 500 frames each. All bouts will be evaluated and scored by three judges. The 10-Point Must System will be the standard system of scoring a bout. Under the 10-Point Must Scoring System, 10 points must be awarded to the winner of the round and nine points or fewer must be awarded to the loser, except for an even round, which is scored (10-10).
More on scoring below:
10–9 Round
A 10 – 9 Round in boxing is where one combatant wins the round by a close margin. A 10 – 9 round in boxing is the most common score a judge assesses. If, during the round, the judge sees a fighter land the better strikes, even if by just one technique over their opponent, the judge shall give the winning fighter a score of 10 while assessing the losing fighter a score of 9 or less. It is imperative that judges understand that a score of 9 is not an automatic numerical score given to the losing fighter of the round. The judge must consider: Was the fighter engaged in offensive actions during the round? Did the losing fighter compete with an attitude of attempting to win the fight, or just to survive the offensive actions of their opponent? A score of 10 – 9 can reflect an extremely close round or a round of marginal domination and/or impact.
10-8 Round
A 10 – 8 Round in boxing is where one fighter wins the round by a large margin. A score of 10 – 8 does not require a fighter to dominate their opponent for the entirety of the round. The score of 10 – 8 is utilized by the judge when the judge sees verifiable actions on the part of either fighter. Judges shall ALWAYS give a score of 10 – 8 when the judge has established that one fighter has dominated the action of the round, had duration of the domination and also impacted their opponent with effective strikes and strategy that have diminished the abilities of their opponent. Judges must CONSIDER giving the score of 10 – 8 when a fighter shows dominance in the round even though no impactful scoring against the opponent was achieved. Defensive responsibility is a given; ergo, defensive actions will not be specifically rewarded.
Dominance of a round can be seen in striking when the losing fighter continually attempts to defend, with no counters or reaction taken when openings present themselves. If a fighter has little to no offensive output during a round, it should be normal for the judge to consider awarding the losing fighter 8 points instead of 9. Judges must CONSIDER giving the score of 10 – 8 when a fighter IMPACTS their opponent significantly in a round even though they do not dominate the action. If a judge sees that a fighter has been significantly damaged in the round the judge should CONSIDER the score of 10 – 8.
- Boxing oriented techniques only (meaning no kicks, headbutts, shoulders, knees, elbows, etc).
- Cheesing will play a negative role in judging the impact of your fight.
- You may not strike to the back of your opponent's head or direct spinal area. Areas approximating the rib cage and kidneys are legal however.
- You may not go outside the ring at any moment.
- Clinching is permitted but not beyond 50 frames.
- Striking inside the clinch is permitted; but, boxers may not use collar ties to set up their strikes.
- You may not body lock your opponent by clasping both your hands behind their back.
- You may not back fist your opponent; however, if it is a back fist motion that then makes contact with the front of the glove, this is legal.
- You may not hammer fist your opponent.
The mod we will be using will be blctest01.tbm until further notice.
Submission Grappling
All submission grappling bouts will be fought across two rounds.
The first round being only for 400 frames. During this time period, no points will be awarded for either fighter for any positional changes or submission attempts. The second round will be fought for the full 750 frames and this is where positive/negative points will begin being awarded for both fighters for their movements.
]
Positive Points
Each position must be established for 20 frames or more being out of any danger of submission in order for points to be awarded.
- Passing the guard = 3 points
- Knee on stomach = 2 points
- Mount position = 2 points
- Back mount with hooks = 3 points
- Takedown (ends Guard or Half Guard) = 2 points
- Clean Takedown (ends passed the guard) = 4 points
- Sweeps (ends Guard or Half Guard) = 2 points
- Clean Sweep (ends passed the guard) = 4 points
- Sweep is considered when two fighters are facing each other, change the position from bottom to top and establish it for 20 frames or more.
- Reversals are considered Sweeps as well.
- When changing multiple positions, points will be awarded only for the position that has been established for 20 frames or more.
- Every sweep has to be done in one continuous motion in order to be awarded with points.
- Points for a sweep will be awarded only if the fighter initiates the sweep, not if he is being attacked by his opponent and he ends up on top.
- When passing the guard going straight to mount or knee on the stomach in less than 30 frames, points will be given only for passing the guard.
Penalties (Negative Points):
- When a fighter voluntarily jumps in the guard or goes from standing position to a non-standing position by any means and remains down for 30 frames or more, he will be punished by a minus point.
- When a fighter disengages from contact and starts backing up and avoids engaging again he will be punished by minus point.
- If two fighters (team-mates) make a fixed fight, they will both be disqualified from their match and reprimanded.
All submissions and matches will be judged by a Grappling Judge. Generally speaking, these submissions will be accepted:
- Chokes that involve a fully wrapped, closed wedge around the neck area around itself will be counted. (Except when applied via triangle lock with your legs without an arm inside the choking circle).
- Chokes that involve a fully wrapped, closed wedge around the neck area with an arm inside the choking circle. An arm-in choke will not be counted if there is space inbetween the neck and arm with no adjustments to finish. (A triangle choke can still be finished with the arm on the outside, but you must have a grip on the back of the head as well whilst gripping behind the knee closest to the arm you have trapped inside the circle)
- Straight armbars. Any situation where there is proper isolation of the shoulder joint/general upperbody and there is an open or closed wedge fixed below the elbow joint with breaking force applied to force extension.
- Leglocks. Namely two main leglock attacks. The kneebar and the straight ankle lock. Kneebars will be counted so long as there is an open or closed wedge placed at the hip joint with breaking force forcing the leg to hyperextend. Straight ankle locks will be counted so long as there is an open or closed wedge around the hip joint and there is breaking force applied to the ankle joint, causing it to forcefully extend.
- Shoulderlocks will be widely unavailable due to the axises of the arms; but, omoplatas and battle-stock attacks will be counted.
The mod we will be using is: x_bjj09.tbm until further notice.
Mixed Martial Arts
All amateur MMA bouts will be fought across 3 rounds of 500 frames each and judged by at-least 3 judges. We will be trying our best to imitate the post-2017 unified rule set for MMA for these bouts.
We will be using bb_arena01.tbm until further notice
The 10-Point Must System will be the standard system of scoring a bout. Under the 10-Point Must Scoring System, 10 points must be awarded to the winner of the round and nine points or less must be awarded to the loser, except for an even round, which is scored (10-10).
What will we be looking for?
Effective Striking/Grappling shall be considered the first priority of round assessments. Effective Aggressiveness is a ‘Plan B’ and should not be considered unless the judge does not see ANY advantage in the Effective Striking/Grappling realm. Cage/Ring Control (‘Plan C’) should only be needed when ALL other criteria are 100% even for both competitors. This will be an extremely rare occurrence.
We will mostly be trying to judge based on the first and second priority.
If you ever purposefully try to win on a "Plan C" scenario, we'll be less happy to make you fights.
How do we define effective striking/grappling?
Blows that have immediate or cumulative impact with the potential to contribute towards the end of a real match with the IMMEDIATE weighing in more heavily than the cumulative impact. Successful execution of takedowns, submission attempts, reversals and the achievement of advantageous positions that produce immediate or cumulative impact with the potential to contribute to the end of the match, with the IMMEDIATE weighing more heavily than the cumulative impact.” It shall be noted that a successful takedown is not merely a changing of position, but the establishment of an attack from the use of the takedown. Top and bottom position fighters are assessed more on the impactful/effective result of their actions, more so than their position. This criterion will be the deciding factor in a high majority of decisions when scoring a round. The next two criteria must be treated as a backup and used ONLY when Effective Striking/Grappling is 100% equal for the round.
How do we define effective aggressiveness?
Aggressively making attempts to finish the fight. The key term is ‘effective’. Chasing after an opponent with no effective result or impact should not render in the judges’ assessments. Effective Aggressiveness is only to be assessed if Effective Striking/Grappling is 100% equal for both competitors.
How do we define fighting area control?
“Fighting area control is assessed by determining who is dictating the pace, place and position of the match.” Fighting Area Control” shall only to be assessed if Effective Striking/Grappling and Effective Aggressiveness is 100% equal for both competitors. This will be assessed very rarely.
10-10 Round
A 10 – 10 round in MMA is when both fighters have competed for whatever duration of time in the round and there is no difference or advantage between either fighter. A 10 – 10 round in MMA should be extremely rare and is not a score to be used as an excuse by a judge that cannot assess the differences in the round. A 10 – 10 round in MMA is a necessity to have for the judge’s possible score, mainly due to scoring incomplete rounds. It is possible to have a round where both fighters engage for the entire round and at the end of the time period the output, impact, effectiveness and overall competition between the two fighters is exactly the same. It is possible, but highly unlikely. If there is any discernable difference between the two fighters during the round the judge shall not give the score of 10 – 10. Again, this score will be extremely rare.
10–9 Round
A 10 – 9 Round in MMA is where one combatant wins the round by a close margin. A 10 – 9 round in MMA is the most common score a judge assesses. If, during the round, the judge sees a fighter land the better strikes, or utilize effective grappling during the competition, even if by just one technique over their opponent, the judge shall give the winning fighter a score of 10 while assessing the losing fighter a score of 9 or less.
10-8 Round
A 10 – 8 Round in MMA is where one fighter wins the round by a large margin. A score of 10 – 8 does not require a fighter to dominate their opponent for the entirety of the round. The score of 10 – 8 is utilized by the judge when the judge sees verifiable actions on the part of either fighter. Judges shall ALWAYS give a score of 10 – 8 when the judge has established that one fighter has dominated the action of the round, had duration of the domination and also impacted their opponent with either effective strikes or effective grappling maneuvers that have diminished the abilities of their opponent. Judges must CONSIDER giving the score of 10 – 8 when a fighter shows dominance in the round even though no impactful scoring against the opponent was achieved. MMA is an offensive based sport. No scoring is given for defensive maneuvers.
Dominance of a round can be seen in striking when the losing fighter continually attempts to defend, with no counters or reaction taken when openings present themselves. Dominance in the grappling phase can be seen by fighters taking DOMINANT POSITIONS in the fight and utilizing those positions to attempt fight ending submissions or attacks.
- Every strike is legal from knees on the ground to soccerkicks, headbutts, and strikes to the back of the opponent.
- Cheesing will play a negative role in judging the impact of your striking or grappling.
- You may not grab the fence when the opponent is grappling you
- You may not go outside of the cage at any moment
