Bump.

Does anyone have any suggestions on preventing folliculitis? It seems that I have a breakout on the back of my scalp near the hairline everytime I get a tight fade or taper. I've tried some antibiotics like clindamycin, and anti-inflammatory creams like hydrocortisone but it takes 7+ days to fully treat. Salicylic acid shampoos don't seem to aide, at least not with my usecase.

Try visiting a different barber because if the barbers not cleaning their tools it could be infected with the bacteria that causes folliculitis
I'd suggest visiting a dermatologist!

I'd recommend using the cream right after getting your tight fade or taper, usually helps for me.

switch groomers and apply warm water with baking soda and top it off with castor oil after washing off bro

I'd recommend waiting until the hair is old enough (more length) before applying these tactics
I'll take these all under consideration the next time I get a trim. I'm glad to see the hair care community is live and active.

Stay grooming, Toribash! WAPOW!
don't groom unless you know how to

last time i groomed without any prior knowledge my hair got fucked up and i had to redo the whole thing
