Does RAM improves fps in toribash?
I`ve got a question: Does more ram mean more fps or smoother gameplay in toribash?

My specs:

Procesor: AMD Duron(tm) processor, MMX, 3DNow, ~1.8GHz

Memory: 512MB RAM

Page file: 456MB used. 791MB available

DirectX Version: DirectX 9.0c(4.09.0000.0904)

GPU

Name: NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200

Manufacturer: NVIDIA

Chip type: GeForce FX 5200

DAC Type: Integrated RAMDAC

Approx. Total Memory: 128.0 MB

Will an upgrade to 1GB of RAM improve fps and(or) smoothness of the game?

How many fps you have ?
I don't really know about ram and fps much but i think more ram change fps.

Because i have 3,5gb ram and my fps is 26 - 31 .

Now it waves between 60 and 20...

When I move but I don`t grab anything...it won`t go under 50 fps...but if I grab uke...it sometines goes down to about 10 fps.

This is annoying.

So...would another 512MB of ram help me?

Also: If I activate shaders they work...but I get ~ 0.5-1 fps, but that`s from my GPU.

If you have Shaders, the Gfx Card is important (even without shaders though).

I have only 2Go of Ram, and it worked well in Toribash 3.69 & lower.

Though, doesn't work really well in Toribash 3.7
Gone
Ram makes the computer "handle" more stuff going on (like more programs without crashing)

TBH the biggest bottle next your pc has ATM is the Duron. If you ditch that & grab an old Athlon you'll get a huge boost.

I've no idea what your motherboard will support, but since you've got a 1.8 in there (@ 266fsb) you should be able to ramp it up to an Athlon XP 2.6

You should be able to get the processor for about £20, but they can take a lot of digging to find. It'll be enough to keep the game running at 40+ fps even in mods like aikido.

RAM would only give you a 5fps or so boost, not really worth it for the money if you ask me.

RAM = Random access memory , reaction time of ram slot is 5-9 nanosecs , reaction time of hard drive is 2-20 msec That's all about it
and yeh better is 2gb ram not more gb is best for win xp

i have 8gb ram, and it helps i think. but i also have a quad core.

so think about both, procesor power probably helps more than RAM does.
