Heroes of Newerth is a DotA clone made as a standalone game, with a tonne of extra features (stats, reconnect if drop, stop leavers from joining, better graphics, better HUD etc) DotA will never be able to match as well as some new heroes and modified versions of originals.

HoN is $30 for those outside of SEA, but plans to do occasional free weekends and trial accounts.
