Don't worry about it, if 1-79 is the worst you can manage, you're better off than the people who go from 1-1000...

Search for elo in wikipedia, if you want to know how the ranking system works.

i play chess and i know how elo works. And I'm sure, you don't loose eloranking if you don't loose a fight

And what if someone else was close to your rank, and won several fights.
Is it not possible for him/her to get a higher rank than you ?
What if you just stop playing ? No-one can get a higher rank than you ?

You said, you don't think that 79 people got higher ranking than you in one day.
But it is possible. Many matches take place in a day.
Remember that people not always play on servers related to their region of the world, so a server can be busy for 24 hours.
