Try changing the engage distance to 200 and go relax all. Only contract your knees, keep rest of the joints relaxed. Press space two times and then hold all. Space like 5-6 times when holding all and keeping your knees contracted, after you've done that extract the knees. Pretty basic move, I'm not sure if I got it right since I haven't used that move for ages

Hopefully it will send you flying away or towards uke, try experimenting aswell. Test various joints and such...
