An average everyday laptop
So, I'm looking for a laptop, I really wouldn't want a HP because I have heard they stop working properly after a period of time.

Price range

from 0-450€

What I would like it to have.
  • 4Gb of RAM
  • Windows 7 Home premium
  • I want it to be able to watch 1080p movies.
  • A HD screen

What I will be using it for?
  • Schoolwork
  • Watching movies
  • Doing stuff while away from home

Why I want a laptop for this?

Watching movies is a lot nicer when my desktop computer isn't humming so loudly beside me.
I can't do mobile work with desktop computer.

So basically, a netbook right?

I'm using a lenovo S100, and I'm really happy with it. It's specs are right on the line of what you need to play 1080p though, so if the codec requires an above average amount of work then it can stutter.

There is a pretty good price drop on most netbooks now that ultrabooks are around - I got my S100 for $250.
I recently got a Toshiba Satellite C650 for around Ѓ228. It's been a very great laptop so far.
I take it to my classes nearly every day, and it's great for movies and stuff; plus it can run some low-end games well.
The specs are pretty good.
Sorry, I forgot to say that I wanted at least 4Gb of RAM.

Added this info to the first post.

This Toshiba Satellite C650 looks nice, but They don't produce them anymore.
Lenovo s100 would be good but it has only 2Gb of ram and I cba to add another 2 Gb myself.

I was thinking of either of these.

I really like thinkpads, good choice. It's twice the price of our suggestions though :P

Comparing the specs makes me question the price though. But thinkpads have great build quality.
something like this

has a dedicated graphics card which would allow you to stream movies flawlessly and a dual core intel core i3 processor. you could even play toribash on the go without any issues lol.
You don't say?
Yeah, but that price D: Pretty high.

Which processor is better Intel i3 or AMD E450?

And the GFx card only needs to be able to show 1080p movies. No need for gaming, I have this desktop computer for gaming.
