you should make the avatar different (instead of a cropped part of the sig.) it's nice but i find that the avatar just being a crop from the sig lets the overall piece down.

Only comment is that maybe it looks like the circles on the right are out of place. The others bits are like ink splots, but then you have these concentric circles, which kinda makes it look a bit disjointed. Maybe have some blots instead of the circles, and try to tie them in with the character on the left (for example having it look like the origin of these blots is from a splash behind the character).

The signature is awesome, but the avatar sucks.

The avatar doesn't suck, it's just that it is too zoomed in to see what it is. If you didn't have the signature there, you couldn't tell what the avatar was. Try zooming out just a little, so you can see the line of the mouth and maybe the curve of the forehead.

I don't like the avvy but love the sig.
