If you want to learn music, you should have goals in mind. You'll need to learn things like music theory, mixing, mastering, where to find good samples or create your own. Like any form of art, it'll take time to get better at. As for the song you posted, the melody is rather off. It sounds like the same note length placed almost at random.

Music needs structure and without it, the song turns into a mess.

edit: You can have aspects of randomness in music, however, it always needs to follow some sort of pattern. See Diversa - Waters

i see, the song you linked was kind of weird tbf but its a nice concept.
For reference ive been playing the piano for the past 8 years or so, i think i fail when it comes to combining piano with other instruments but yeah, always improving.ty for feedback

im glad that a lot of you listened to my songs i posted, still kind of looking for advice (how do i even use automation??)

Your mixing is a little off, your Melody feels too repetitive as it's only a two bar loop. Try going for 4-8 bars if you're making your own loops, and make sure you mix your drums well! If you need help just dm me on discord. #Dad7798

Cool concept, but I feel like the equalization on the synths and drums is a little off, also the drums feel like they could use a little of sidechaining and more head space. Also the panning of the snares feels a little too much, try making the snares hit a little closer to each other.
Lower the volume of the synths a little bit, make sure they don't blend together (equalization, stereo shaping, limiting and perhaps a little compressing could do the trick).
Lastly the 808 could use some work on it, too. I'd personally use a sample with longer decay, saturate it and put just a little of stereo shaping on it. Also making sure that kick sits on the 808 well is a fundamental.

question on hi hat patterns: would it be good to place hi hats so that rolls fall before 808s kick in and then a shorter roll a bit after?
