Golem IV - Rise of MELOG
Original Post
Ezeths art thread
I usually just make a thread for each art piece, but I draw a lot now days so I don't really want to flood the forums so therefore I'll just put everything here instead.
Added some new stuff too. I have made so much random stuff, so I'll just include the new stuff. I have done 3D modeling, drawings, video and photography for around 10 years now, but not very actively, just every now and then to relax and take my mind of things.
I won't post photography here, but I have it here in: https://www.behance.net/gallery/1538331/Photo and video: https://www.behance.net/gallery/1533793/Film
My old stuff can be found at zetpk.deviantart.com

So to start off

3D stuff

Drawings

Toribash items I have made

For programs I use Maya for the 3D stuff, the old stuff is rendered in Vray or Renderman, the new stuff is rendered in Redshift
for drawings I use only photoshop.

Hello Ezeth, how are you?
Your art is looking good, made a big step up from the last time I saw it!
The colourful birds and snakes are really busy, in a good way.
I'm interested to see how you'll render it out.

If I may ask, what are you drawing on?
I'm on a quest to earn an iPad Pro with doing textures!

Hey Ezeth, it was about time you had a thread of your own, it looks great! It's always nice to see creativity and variety. My personal favourite drawing has to be Doctor is in, even if it's not as polished as some of your other art. I'd like to see more of that stuff.

Hey man, I'm doing fine, got a job in IT, drawing/3dmodeling every now and then, but not often enough in my opinion :) living life in my rented apartment in Asker Norway, how are you doing ?
You know me, I like adding a lot of details and colors :D
The finished result is here: https://cdnb.artstation.com/p/assets...jpg?1585419993
Decided to go with more red and less blue/cyan.
I have a cintiq 16" but I fucked up the cable on it so I have to order a new one, so atm I'm using my trust old wacom bamboo which I think is perfectly fine, sometimes I even prefer that one, because it doesn't take that much space on my desk.

Man it must take quite a lot of time to earn enough to buy an ipad pro doing textures, but that sounds like a fun idea.

It looks good, but the final result looks still sketchy, don't you think so?
Probably because of those rough lines. Lack of midtones as well and some of these creatures look more detailed than the other ones. Lizard/snake eye looks weird, I don't know if that was made on purpose but you know I'm sure that their eyes have a recognizable shape. Some of them do have round eye, that's true but I've never seen them having a "relaxed" sight, you know what I mean? And birds' eyes looking plain comparing to that lizard eye, would be cool to add some contrast to them, make them live. I can see some black lines that look out of the picture.

I guess that's due to a reason that there are no intermediate color between them and the light part. I didn't quite get where's the light source, looks like from the left upper corner, right? I see a big shiny splash behind them, you could take it as a second light source and add some light on their necks, adding more dynamic to the picture overall.
I like the colors, nice, keep it up.

Nice suggestions did a few changes, I will continue tomorrow. The quality got a bit fucked up by imgur.

I added some backlight (only slightly) added some bounce light from the red feathers, lessened the contrasts on the lava (I will probably redo the lava a little bit, not very happy with how it looks right now, its pretty much only midtones.) I added a bit of blood splash for the beak biting in to the tongue, re-did the snake eyes, I might revert back to the old eyes tho, not sure which I like best. Added some more depth to the bird eyes.
