CG (video, compositing, 3D modeling, redering, etc) - i7
P.S.: Sorry for my bad English... =/

Why?

From what I see and hear i7 has better performance off fewer cores and lower clock speed. Considering that most games can't start 16 threads what is the point in having so many cores?

is it really true that you save with a 2500K which can be used for a SSD or a good video card, but if the 2500K is good, the 3570k is best and not a costly dispute, and lower power consumption.

Now, the instructions do not really have the AMD compared to Intel are: SSE4.1, SSE4.2, and AVX you can be useful if you want to edit a movie, AMD processors have a pseudo-instructions similar to those of Intel bearing the name "SSE4a" that really are not even compare with the Intel SSE4.2, all this I mean that Intel processors work much more efficient than AMD, so between the i7 3930k and FX-8150, Intel favors you, believe me, those extra $ are worth it.
Oooo knightrider very interesting post! Awesome information.

I'm not sure if you are a bot or not, but either way, great!
I'd have to say the i7. If you overclock it, even better.
