*Strike out text is the current incorrect translation.

Please do NOT use google translate. If you don't know for sure and are 100% certain... don't guess.

Thanks everybody for the help.

If you think the translation is wrong and know a better one. PLEASE let me know. This include "playername gewinnt".

tekken use except of the menu the english version: <name> won

the best translation won would be:

hampa won ----> hampa gewinnt (like wiirus said)

Another fighting game. They end the games with "XYZ wins". Sometimes.
was mine correct?
hanz0:Very well done. These annoy me much less than the default smilies we've got right now.
Streetfighter uses "hampa gewinnt", too.

No one seems to get that "gewinnen" is actually the wrong verb.

i think "gewinnt" is the best translation. It is used in most german games.

You mean in sense of 'to get something', don't you?
In all games I know it says 'Playername gewinnt die Runde' -> 'Playername wins this round/match'
So yeah, you could understand it that way, but usually you don't.
And the verb 'siegen' is more powerfull I think. You win a game, but you 'siegst' in a war. <- I hope you understand what I want to say xD
