+128x128, 256x256, 512x512...what?
My first post! Don't I get a prize or something?

Anyway, exactly what is the difference between the head sizes? Higher resolution? What?

Also, I make my 128x128 heads using a 540x540 canvas on GIMP, but there isn't any noticeable quality drop, besides the fact I'm playing on a laptop (heh, that rhymes), but they do look stretched out. Should I use a smaller size, or does it not make a difference?

Sorry if that seemed kind of all over the place, I just have so many questions it's hard to stick to one topic.
Higher Quality. 128x128 is the lowest, and looks blurry imo, in-game. Try not to use a bigger canvas, it makes a quality drop, even it's not noticeable to you. Just zoom in on a 128x128 canvas.

When resizing from 512x512 to 128x128 you are basicly squeezing 16 pixels into 1 pixel to make up for the pixel loss. This results in 16x quality loss.

It has to be on a head to see the quality difference, and 512x512 is the highest resolution you can have.
I would show an example but I don't feel like it.

But my head resolution is in 256x256 I had to buy it because my 128x128 head texture made my 256x256 head look very crappy and pixelized, so there is a Very big difference.
and try to make your head in either 128x128, 256x256, or 512x512 keeps the resolution looking nice
(heads over 128x128 resolution must be bought in the torishop
256x256=10k[10,000tc]
512x512=20k[20,000tc])

so my main point is, quality difference.
I bought a subscription to Wibbles so I think this quote is necessary,
