How to kick correctly?
Lately, I have been getting used to the intermediate aikido server, but there are some people there that can take my starting position easy. It's just a bad kick followed by an okay defensive position, but my kicks are never effective. I usually just contract the hips, extend the legs and contract the ankles when I get the chance. Any help?
Don't kick in aikido. This is useless and so mainstream, there are a lot of ways to counter a kick, especially in a mod like aikido where you are close to your opponent.

My Youtube channel : Mocucha Toribash

There really is no proper way to kick.

Here are a couple suggestions of what to do

1. Try out different kicks in singleplayer playing as both characters
2. Rotate your chest
3. Learn how to counter a kick before trying to do a kick
That gives you a better understanding of where to kick and how to kick
4. Kicks are mainly used to get more points than your opponent but in a mod like aikido where it almsot never comes down to points try a more defensive (kick) opener
Don't Be Racist
Okay. A kick is done with two stages. The contraction and the extension.

The way I do it is I choose a way to rotate
extend both glutes and contract one knee.
Then you can edit the rest to your advantage.

Then I space

after that I extend the contracted knee and voila.
There is no "Right" way to kick

A few things that i do when i kick tho are...

rotate chest and bend lumbar
move pecs the way ur chest is going (Left rotating chest=contract left pec, extend right)
extend glutes
contract one hip, extend the other
relax the knee that u are gonna kick with
extend ankle that is staying on the floor (for more power)

Those are just some things that help in a kick
In Aikido a kick alone is not effective. Most of the time you use the kick to lift the enemy (kicklift) and than finish him with your chest and arms.

There is no way to kick "perfect" because you never know what your enemy will make. Most effective for me is: try to kick his legs, if you hit he will "jump" and it ends in a lift...

I tried googling "podding" but found nothing. What is it?
