current state of TB? (toribash)
came back just to say this, does TB still hold up or not? theres thousands of games like xonotic or openarena that are fairly obscure as TB

Seems like its doing just fine to me to me for being a niche a game it is.

The community that supports this game is long standing, and its honestly amazing to come back to game you think is long dead to see it still being played and enjoyed.
still lots of activity on the forums. And new versions being worked on. hell, I played in a GM event yesterday.

Got to give credit where it is due, very few games can do what toribash has.

That 26k users online was bots, but yea still the game used to be quite a lot more active until like 2017-18 or so

Anyway, lots of people still play, old and new

Whenever I open tb I can expect somebody hanging around public rooms any time of the day

Also the game is receiving regular updates and various events are being hosted very often, happy days
It's only "a dead game" if you compare today's activity to 2014 (which is inherently, unfair).

Toribash still holds up today imo.

It's been slowly coming back around over the past two years I believe. I see more people online and playing nowadays than when I did a year ago.

<DesiTwist> terty plays tb with the ghost turned off, uke turned off and uses that mouse with the ball in it
Toribash is a timeless classic, but I can't help but wonder what kind of incentive made more people play ten years ago compared to today.
