I did a Google search and found a suggestion on this, but it was complicated and suggested the use of an in-game UI addition or something which seemed highly impractical.

Simple; add a button that says "Receive Notifications" and when that is checked, you get notifications.

Maybe an email when someone replies to your post or something, or when they quote you, I dunno. Seems kinda necessary, doesn't it?

You can already get push notifications through email when you subscribe to a thread or receive a private message.

As of quoting, you can just use the "Search" function if you have Toriprime and find your name.
