1. Basic Strikes
--- a. Punches - Primary tool in striking, always available for mid-close range combat, used with various angles for specific guards.
--- b. Kicks - Mid-Long range strike and used for power shots or disrupting the Uke's balance before an engagement.
--- c. Elbows - Close ranged strike, it can not only go through the Uke's defensive options but push with huge power.
--- d. Knees - Mostly used when in clinching position or to counter wrestling shots. Landing a good knee will always give the upper hand in the situation.
2. Basic Defense
--- a. Guard - The placement of your hands relative to your head and body that you are protecting. Having a guard up along with a good stance will you let you fluidly defend and deliver strikes. (Remember: Keep your hands up!)
--- b. Blocking - Basic defensive tool to stop hits and aggression from Uke. Once mastered you can block and counter-strike simultaneously.
--- c. Dodge - Using your movement (hips & chest especially) for dodging to slip under and around strikes and then counter against Uke's exposed guard.
