What progams to use for art ? i have gimp but i wanna know like what i should use for like joint textures and stuff and 3d

Hello there! You can use any image editing software to make any textures(including Gimp). Other alternatives are Paint.NET, Adobe Photoshop(Paid, 30 day trial) & Pixlr.
For 3D Objects you can use any 3D software which exports as .obj. There's a nice tutorial by Ezeth in here

for 3d objects i recommend Blender (its free, find it on steam)

for joints you can use mudbox

No mudbox isn't free, it's pretty damn expensive so it's not what most people use.

Mudbox is free, you just have to get the student version.

it's basically the same I believe and it works just fine.

you just need to make an account, it's simple though and well worth it.
