As Jingles said, it's basicly showing respect to the other person you just beat/lost. If you don't want to say anything after, that's all on you.

Destroyer, if you don't like the whole "gg" thing, then don't say it. Just ignore it. I think this thread is pretty pointless because no matter how long this thread gets, it's not like Hampa is just going to ban saying "gg" in the next update.

i rarely say it and usually reserve it for games where i had exceptional fun

If your opponent wants to say it then let him. It means that he enjoyed the game. If he says this all the time then he is enjoying his toribash experience. You dont have to respond to "gg"s if you dont want to.

I never say gg anymore, everyone ingame is a dick when they win.

it's probably because you are, and if you say gg now, you don't look like a dick to other people, and then people will say gg back man.
Or if you prefer to keep at it the non-gg, keep winning

It's a sign of respect. People think your hitler if you don't say gg for some reason. gg sucks.
