I attended public school until 11th grade and then switched to online for my last two years. it worked much better for me personally but I definitely don't think it's for everyone. some people have a real difficult time sitting down and basically teaching them self concepts. the program I went through had one teacher to like 100 students so it was very much go at your own pace and not a lot of one on one.
I dropped out of High School in Grade 9.
This year I am staring University at the age of 17.
School is for people who can't live their lives without Instruction. They always need someone telling them what to do, and how to do it. Most people are folowers, and not leaders. With that reason in effect, most people do NEED School.

YES OMG

Education is one of the most important things a person can have.

Sure, maybe the school system you're a part of might not be the best in the world, but simply not going to school is an extremely short-sighted thing to do. Going through life without understanding how things work just doesn't seem like a fulfilling existence to me. Maybe if you're dropping out of school to study on your own terms that's fine, but I don't think there's a single case in the world where its a good idea to drop out of high school. College isn't necessary, but for god's sake get a GED.

I don't think you should ever stop learning, and having a FREE SCHOOL SYSTEM that gives you the opportunity to do that is something that shouldn't be passed up.

Maybe people miss the days when you would drop out at 13 to work on your pop's farm idk

It's not even about the education. It's about socializing with the rest of the community, gaining the ability of working in a group.

In School you make Friends,Learn New things More than ''Home School'' Socialism/Education is Important Though.
I didn't go to school from long time, BUT I believe it was way better that School home, Also The presure of The Teachers is Important, For HomeWork, Team work, Sports, Challenging And Exams. Those why School important more than home school.
This post is just a bit of quality-control.

This is a horrible OP. Now, just because the OP is horrible, doesn't mean that you're free to make Off-Topic type posts here. This is Discussion, posts here are meant to be well thought through and actually contribute to moving the discussion forward.

If this thread continues to look like it's more suited to Off-Topic, then we'll move it there.
Okay, I'm going to make an assumption based on your avatar and the quality of the op. You're a young kid - you hate school because you're entering adolescence and waking up in the morning everyday is horrible etc.

No one likes school, but education is the most important thing you're ever going to do. Unfortunately everything you want to do in your later life revolves around your education.

Home school also requires having a qualified unemployed parent. Emphasis heavily on qualified. This probably applies to 0.001% of children.

So the question I ask, is how is it possible to have every child homeschooled? How will we ensure they are actually being taught to the correct standards?

I don't know too much about home-school, but like stated by almost everyone, there's
much more to regular school than the material taught.
Anyway, I don't think everybody has the resources for homeschooling their children,
and like meow said, you'd need a qualified parent or tutor.
Watch this:
The past makes you wanna die out of regret, and future makes you depressed out of anxiety. So by elimination, the present is likely the happiest time.
you don't need a qualified parent or tutor to homeschool, it's 2015. online homeschooling has been a thing for quite some time.
