[Texture]How to make a decent head using gimp
I'm now starting to texture a little so I need to know a few things.

1) What tool do we use to make realistic eyes?
2) What tool do we use to make realistic hair?
3) What tool do we use to make a good mouth and nose?

For the tools, you can use anything. What editor do you use?
Use tools that you are comfortable of and easy to use. I prefer using brush and the pen tool if your using photoshop. Download different brushes in the net.

I make everything with my brush tool.

Use gradient tool and blend it to make realistic hair.

For eyes, it comes from your imagination, draw any kind of eyes which you think, fits the hair. Use pen tool, draw eye path than stroke path to selection. Fill selection with any color.

Same for nose.

Play with different sizes, effects etc. You will easily learn a lot about Gimp.

Fact: Gimp is easier to use than Photoshop and, is more user friendly.
A mix of tools is used to create realistic effects. It depends on the situation really.

Look for tutorials on youtube, helps a lot and teaches you how the different tools can be used.

for face making....
This is what I do....
Skin, details, shading, etc. I used the gradient, dodge/burn tool, and smudge tool....
For eyes and mouths,
I used the same tool above and path tool
For c/p heads
I used the things above too, and plus a airbrush tool.
That's all, others you can PM me....

i use gimp, it`s easier to learn than photoshop and it's for free..

Gaussian blur is the keyword for shadows.

to do realistic drawings, you should buy a tablet. It's the best way of doing it.

No, gaussian blur is not the keyword. The more you use gaussian blur, the more blur you will get.
Try to get along with the tools of gimp/adobe ps....
