A ping command, similar to irc's ctcp PING command, you'd write /ping, the client would send the command ping + timestamp, and the server would reply PONG with the same timestamp, then the client would compare the current timestamp with the one the server sent back, and it would show it to the user

what would you use this for though? i know what a ping is i just dont see the use of it in this game

if a player has a bad connection, it may slow down the whole server, possibly even shutting it down. that's a real useful command.

i really think that will be great. Yet, that way some players will be purely hated by the whole server, i think thats meanie !!
