Autumn Leaves
Passage 1410-
A storm is brewing.
The flora of changing seasons are gently rustling
In anticipation.
An uneasy stillness occupies the all-embracing forest.
Autumn leaves sway weightlessly in the everlasting wind.
Passage 1180-
Somewhere, a solitary songbird sings,
But nobody answers its plea.
As entropy takes hold,
Trees sway,
And the forest-dwellers stir.
Autumn leaves sway weightlessly in the everlasting wind.
Passage 960-
Just as the bushes begin to ripple,
And the deer scatter in every direction,
Our songbird finds its respite.
Taking flight,
It observes the forest canopy.
And before its very eyes,
Autumn leaves sway weightlessly in the everlasting wind.
Passage 680-
The storm reaching its peak,
Towering trees buckle,
The thunderous cracks of bark pierce the howls of the cyclone.
A mighty oak involuntarily surrenders its branch.
But ubiquitously,
Autumn leaves sway weightlessly in the everlasting wind.
Passage 440-
At last, the tempest subsides.
Hesitantly, the inhabitants emerge from their concealment.
A wounded oak stands stoically,
Branches loosely hanging from cracked bark,
The benevolent breeze continues evermore.
Autumn leaves sway weightlessly in the everlasting wind.
