Help me select a tablet!
Greetings fellow Toribashians! This holiday season, box is searching for a new tablet. I don't really like anything Apple has to offer, so I've narrowed my search to these two Android tablets:

Google's Nexus 10, approximately $400USD.

Samsung's Galaxy Tab 10.1, approximately $350USD.

I've had personal hands-on experience with the Galaxy Tab as a learning tool, so I know a bit about how it feels. I've never really had anything to do with the Nexus 10, but according to reviews and reading the specifications, it's certainly tubular.

So, is the Nexus 10 worth the extra $50USD? Help box out!

No.

Galaxy tablet.

It's less spending, it's better (and bigger) and it's faster than your ordinary Nexus 10.

It's the better tablet in my opinion, and I have had one for a while (and a Nexus for not as long) and I'd say my Galaxy is way better.

Are you sure?

The Nexus 10 only $50USD more. Also, the Galaxy Tab only a tenth of an inch bigger than the Nexus 10. . . Hardly noticeable.

What else makes you select the Galaxy Tab?

box did you read the specs for the Nexus and Galaxy?

Nexus $400USD
Display: 10.055” 2560 x 1600
Storage: 16 GB or 32 GB
Memory: 2 GB
CPU: Dual-core A15
GPU: Quad-core Mali T604
Battery: 9000mAh
Weight: 603g

Galaxy $350USD
Display: 10.1" 1280x800
Storage: 16 GB or 32 GB or 64 GB
Memory: 1 GB
CPU: Dual-core NVIDIA Tegra 2
GPU: On chip
Battery: 7000mAh
Weight: 565g

So, here is the winner for each category;
Display: Nexus
Storage: - Not sure on pricing for each model, probably approximately comparable -
Memory: Nexus
CPU: Nexus
GPU: Nexus
Battery: Nexus
Weight: Galaxy

So unless either $50 or 38g will break your bank/back, get the Nexus. There is no real competition.

Honestly I wouldn't turn down that battery and display on the Nexus, even if it cost a few hundred more.
Yes, I did read the specs. I just wanted to see what others actually thought of using the device.

My favorite thing about the Nexus 10 is the display.

I have a galaxy tab 8.9, and a friend has a nexus, and the size of the nexus is considerably a plus, it fits very well into your hand. My samsung lags a lot, but it might be that it's a year old. I would say the nexus, but i'm happy with the samsung too.

And also, the android system is 4.2 for nexus, while galaxy is at 3.1

That's the biggest thing that irks me about the Tab, is that it's a little outdated.

Another problem is that it's difficult to find the Nexus; everywhere I go, it's sold out. :[

Well there is the note, but it's a lot more expensive. Might be worth it if you're sketching often.
