I'm going to start this with a simple fact - people want to get in your account to steal your stuff. It doesn't matter who you are, there's someone who's going to try it, and most new players will walk right into it.

I'm here to help put a stop to that. If it does happen then report it as quickly as you can - provide as much information as possible, that will help us get your account fixed quicker.

BASIC GUIDE

Here's the main ways to keep safe.

1. Make sure you have an e-mail address set in your account. Make sure you can access it.

2. Don't use a short, simple password. The longer and more complicated the better.

3. Never give your password to anyone - I SERIOUSLY MEAN NEVER. Forum & game staff don't need your password, we will never ask for it. If anyone does get a screen shot & report it to a Smod (blue name).

4. Never give tb_login.dat to anyone. It has your password in it, so report anyone who tries to get it off you.

PHISHING

People make fake websites claiming they will give you free items, credits, QI. They're all bullshit, they're used to steal your account. If someone links one report to a Smod as soon as possible.

OTHER COMMON SCAMS

Fake admins - Just because they have a ~ doesn't mean they're an admin. Other than ninjas everyone with ingame admin will have a coloured name on the forum. As always, report fakes.

Ingame trading - We always advise against trading in the game, if someone asks then do the trade either by PM or in #market on IRC. If you are scammed by trading ingame it's a lot harder for us to fix for you.

There are a lot more scams, but if you think before doing you will spot them.

There's also a common one involving a Tb file, Tb_login.dat
Never give it to anyone as it contains your username and password.

Please don't PM hampa or veb with things like this, they are incredibly busy and you will have to wait a long time for a response.
