How to make a Toribash Video
Hi, and welcome to my huge movie tutorial.

Here i will teach you how to make a good TB movie, and how to use fraps and freecam.

What you need:
Sony Vegas (preferrably pro 9 or pro 8 )
Fraps (www.fraps.com)
Freecam (http://forum.toribash.com/script.php)
Patience
An epic song.
Even more patience.

Well, I am myself pretty new to the program, but I manage to do some neat videos (I think).

Vids i´ve done:

Anyhow.

This is what I will teach you to do:

Okay. First off, you need some neat replays. Do them yourself, dont steal, if you will use someone else´s, be sure to ask first, and be sure to leave credits.
Have the replays? Good! Now lets start!

Create a folder, where you can find it easy, desktop is recommended.
Start Fraps.

Go to the "Movies" tab, and change to save your movies in the folder you created.
If you have a good computer, and can record in high speed, set it to 60 fps. If not, 30 fps.
And DO NOT record sounds.

You start to record with F9 as a default, I still use that. So, minimize fraps, and remember F9.

Now you need to learn the Freecam script, if your not already familiar with that.
Use this tutorial to learn Freecam: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1FhXFQsCOwQ
One tip is to practice a bit and get used to it before making a video.

When starting toribash, you should make sure that your resolution on your TB window is 1280 x 720 or 640 x 480, since those are the best format for youtube. (Source: youtube)
You find this in ESC: Setup -> Options.

When you are ready to record, press first:
/opt hud 0

So the hud dissapears. if you still have 2 boxes, [game] and [InstaBoost] at the bottom, press ESC, and then press ESC again, and they will dissapear.
Load freecam, and style your replay.
My tip is to use shaders, you can find different shaders in you toribash folder, in Data -> Shaders.
I will use Meatwad_silver in this one.So write: /lws meatwad_silver.inc and press enter.
Before recording, press P so your game is paused on preferrably the first two turnframes.

Press F9, and press P directly after.
Press F9 again when you want to stop the recording.

Now you have a video in your folder, called
tb 2009-11-16 16-15-21-12
or something like that.
rename it, to something fitting.
I will use this replay first, so I naming it "1".

Now you gotta do some recording. It may take a while.
Record all of the replays you want to have in your video.
Make sure you dont record your cursor!

Have you done it? Great!

In this tutorial, i will only use 4 clips, but its highly recommended to use 10 - 25 clips.

So. Start Sony Vegas.
Now then. Drag your first clip into the program.
It should look something like this:

Trim you clip, remove everything around, if you´ve started to record to early, or stopped it too late.
Do this by grab the clip, in the beginning or the end, and drag it. You can see on the mini-preview screen how it looks like while you are doing it.
(Common tip: you can zoom in and out by scrolling the mouse.)
To preview the movie, press the play button on the bottom of the
screen.

Looks good but... I want a picture before the clip!
(Common tip: If you are going to have a picture in your movie, make sure it has the same scale as the movie. If the movie is in 1280x720, make the picture in 1280x720.)
Make a picture, save it in your movie folder, and drag it into Vegas.
As you can see, your picture is after your clip.
Drag the picture to the beginning of your movie, and drag your clip to after the picture.
It should look like this now.

Now I want to add an text over the picture. Right klick on the layer, and choose insert Video track.

Now it should look something like this.

Right click on the track you recently created, and choose "Insert Text Media".
When the box pops up, write what you want, and explore all of the tabs, you can add special effects to your text.
Explore.

Done already? Dang, your a quick learner

Add another clip to the track, and add your music. The music will automaticly create a new track.

Look on your video again. Looks pretty... plain, doesnt it?
We need transitions!
Go to the tab "Transitions" and look around. there is alot to choose from. Drag the transtition you want to the start of your Text.
I will use Cross effect: Cross Zoom A/B Slow. The first one.
Cool huh? :3

Now drag a trastition of your choise to the end of your picture/start of your first clip.

Looks a bit better now, right?
Good, we are done with the first clip for now. Did you add the second clip as i told you? If not, do it now.
Now to something interresting. Speeding up, slowing down.

Duplicate your second clip, to your track over. You need to have 2 identical clips for this.
Easy way to duplicate is to press Ctrl while you drag it to the other track.

Now, it will look like this.

Now, find what part you want to speed, and cut the bar until then.

Then, cut to other so it will match.

(Common tip: Save often!)

Now, you will speed the first part of the second clip. Press control, and drag the clip´s ending closer to the start.

Now, simply drag down the remaining clip next to the other one.

Watch the clip. Pretty cool huh?
Now onto slow motion. Repeat:

Duplicate your second clip, to your track over.
Find what part you want to speed, and cut the bar until then.
Then, cut to other so it will match.

But instead of Ctrl drag it closer to the start, Ctrl drag it in the opposite direction.

Watch the video. Awesome, right?

Now add a transtition of your choice to the end of first/beginning of second clip. I will use Push: Push right, here.

Add the third clip.
Add a nice transtition.
Go to the tab called Video Fx.
Explore all of these, find something that fits your video.
I will add Color curves: Night to mine. Just drag the Fx to your clip.

Experiment with your remaining clips.

Done? Alrighty!

Now we will add credits.
Go to the tab "Media generators", and go to "Credit Roll".

Choose anyone from of your choise. I will use the first one.

Fill the boxes with the things you should, like credits to other people, etc.

Now, when you are done, go to:
File -> Render as
then save it as yournamehere.avi, and upload to youtube.

REMEMBER: The best way to learn is to explore. I´ve thought you some basics now, so go ahead and explore, try, and DO NOT be afraid of doing something wrong.
Save often and you can always redo it.

Hope this helps a little!

D= god sang u need to make a video with hypercam or something actually SHOWING how to do it for the retarded people like me!
It's been a while.... A long while...
Posted same as vid tut a while ago :/
Not bad, but it would be better, if you would explain how to use the freecam with the keyframe method.
Also you should activate the "No sync" and the "No cursor" option in fraps.
Also if you put the vid file to HD, you should take .wmv format. I personally prefer a special .mp4 codec
Speedchanging is also pretty usefull. Press "ctrl" and you'll see that little wavey line. Now just strech or short your clip while pressing "ctrl". Or you do the more advanced way, but I don't wanna explain that one right here.
But it's not a bad tutorial, but it could be better.

EDIT: I'm sorry, didn't saw the link for the Freecam tutorial. :/
EDIT2: I guess I'm kinda blind today, didn't saw that speedup thing. But I seriously don't get it
