what do u guys think of my first attempt
personally i think the smily has got awesome shading with 5 different colours (excluding black) but i dont really like the gun

The handle of the gun is just too short, also tilt it a little. Make the tip of the barrel straight if the picture is from the side.

The shading looks good but they both could use some more contrast, try darker shades.

The attempt is very nice for a first try, I've seen a lot worse done by people who call them pixel artists.
