Alrighty toribash community, recently ( 2 weeks maybe) my ping has become unbearable. In servers i used to join were i had normal 70-100 ping now is 500-800 ping on every game. What could the cause be? I have multiple mobile devices and computers on the same router but it was fine before. My sister got a new phone but she doesnt have a data plan, could she still be sucking up internet?

try checking your connection first by going to speedtest.net
see if your ping is really that high.
if not, your problem might be that the other devices on the router are eating up the internet speed
does your sister's phone have Wi-Fi?
and are you using a wireless router?

no my sisters phone doesnt have wifi, and im using a ethernet cable.
pingtest says its 22ms, but weirdly the problems didnt occur tonight. Ill say it when im going through a lag episode and thank you for the help its very much appreciated.

if your ping keeps changing, then maybe you should contact your ISP

If you're running wireless, do you have a password on your router? A bunch of other people could be using it if you don't have a password on it.
