Hi everyone !

This is my project of first year at ESMI (France, Bordeaux).

We've had a list of movies and we've had to realize a sequence one minute based on the choosen movie. One per person.

I've chose Silent Hill. I inspirated myself of the movie (the classroom and the sanctuary) and parts of the video game (the wall's hole).

I've had a polycount budget of 100k poly, five minutes of rendering per image and two months to do it.

wow, very good ^^ although I'd like to see some different animation other than camera angles, but I gotta say, those were some very smooth and realistic camera movements.

Yeah i only used cam angles because it was a constraint imposed
No character, and the only thing which can be animated were the cam ;)

So i opted for a mix between a FPS view (as if we are the character who discovers those rooms) and two classic cam moves.

I use 3ds Max and mental Ray for rendering, Photoshop to make my own textures and Combustion for the compositing.

I do 3D for three years. But if you have questions in texturing or other things in 3d, do not hesitate to ask me, I'll answer as best I can. (it may be a good idea to create a topic where people asks theirs questions in 3d and others try to help them).

pretty cool ^^ although you can see where you joined the tip and the rest of the blade on the sword, did you try using hypernurbs? that might help a bit. (of course I could be completely wrong.)
