Yes, yes, I know there is a thread that KiTFoX made about all the uses, but this is only about the fact that you can report threads to have them closed faster. Most people probably don't even look at that thread in the first place. I keep finding people posting "please close this thread." It just gets slightly annoying since I know they can just report and stuff.
Close if you think is pointless, or sticky if you think it will spread the fact faster.

unfortunately, no matter how much we tell people "REPORT, NOT REPLY", they still seem to be prone to backseat moderation. Posting in threads saying "inb4 close" or "shame this shit".

Generally we just warn/infract users for it.


So yea, guys USE THE REPORT BUTTON IF YOU WANT A MOD TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT A THREAD/POST. IT'S MUCH SIMPLER FOR US RATHER THAN TO GO THROUGH A BUNCH OF USELESS "CLOSE THIS THREAD" POSTS.
