I thought I would make a discussion about this...I remembered what my 8th grade teacher told me many years back...."Son, don't listen to rap music, it's crap music, your ears will bleed." On that, I started listening to rap music more closely...it discusses the issues, and what has happened in their personal life. Is that really that bad? Discuss here.

It depends on the rapper, I think. In my opinion, I think that the classic gangsta rappers produce crab music, but there are also rappers which deal with political and society issues (a few songs of Eminem e.g.).

it depends on what type of rap you listen to.
50cent, lil whayne, the game etc is not good rap music ...
But artists like Immortal Technique, Atmosphere, Jedi Mind Tricks etc is good rap music.
They dont rap about how many cars they have and how many girls they fucked.

so ur teatcher is right on one point but not all rap music is bad.

Music is taste. you're smarter than this.
